In Memoriam
Jean McKay crossed the threshold on Thanksgiving Day in the early morning hours. Thanksgiving, it was said, was her favorite holiday. Jean was a devoted developer of the Extra lesson work pioneered by Audrey McAllen and she brought much help to many children and deep insights into the remedial work done by class teachers and extra lesson support workers in our Waldorf schools. In her retirement years she has been in a care facility and her passing was peaceful. It would be an appropriate honoring of her life if we could all keep her in mind over the next few weeks as we enter the Advent season! She is a kind soul to help us right back during these challenging Advent days of darkness. She was decidedly a keeper of the light when it came to children. Novermber 26, 2011
Miriam Karnow, wife of Dr. Gerald Karnow, and dedicated worker at the Fellowship Community in Spring Valley, died suddenly last night of heart complications. Miriam cared for her community like a gentle wind and a steady force at once. She carried her responsibilities with gentleness and joy. A Eurythmist, she loved music and beauty and made the making of both seem effortless. She will be greatly missed here. November 3, 2011
