The Association of Waldorf Schools of North America is the steward of the trademarks, also referred to as service marks, WALDORF, RUDOLF STEINER and STEINER., registered with the US Patent and Trademark Office.

Update:
The public schools in the charter alliance have taken an erroneous position, stating through their legal counsel, Christian Keiner, that because the public schools are not-for-profit the service mark does not apply to them and can be ignored. Veronica Devitt, legal trademark counsel to AWSNA has written a rejoinder clarifying the application of the universal application of the "Waldorf and Steiner Education" Service Marks and this can be read at this link.
