The Association of Waldorf Schools of North America is the steward of the trademarks, also referred to as service marks, WALDORF, RUDOLF STEINER, STEINER, and WALDORF INSPIRED, registered with the US Patent and Trademark Office.

Update:
The Alliance for Public Waldorf Education has taken an erroneous position, stating through their legal counsel, Christian Keiner, that because the charters are public schools the service mark does not apply to them and can be ignored. Veronica Devitt, legal trademark counsel to AWSNA wrote a rejoinder clarifying the application of the universal application of the marks "Waldorf”, “Steiner” and “Rudolf Steiner” in education Service Marks and this can be read at this link.
