Accommodation
Whidbey Island Waldorf School is delighted to host the AWSNA Northwest pedagogical conference and the WECAN Northwest conference this year. Below is some information which may be helpful in planning your trip to our delightful community on Whidbey Island.
We suggest you book a room through the following list: www.visitlangley.com/lodging . Please note that Clinton, Langely and Freeland are the closest proximity to the venue.
As well there are a few beds available on at the Whidbey Institute in the Farmhouse and Grannys. See: http://www.whidbeyinstitute.org/accomodations.html . The cost is $65/night and you can book these beds when you register.
There may be a few spaces available in private accommodation on a first come-first served basis and there may be a charge for these. If you are interested in being put on a list for private accommodation, please note that when you register and the Housing Coordinator will contact you directly.
Directions to Whidbey Island Waldorf School and Whidbey Institute
The Whidbey Island Waldorf School and Whidbey Institute are located on a 70 acre parcel near Clinton, WA at the southern end of Whidbey Island.
Whidbey Island is located 25 miles from Downtown Seattle and access to the island is provided from Mukilteo by the Washington State Ferry System, with service on and off of the island every half-hour. Take the Ferry from Mukilteo to Clinton. From the ferry dock, follow Highway 525 north to the stop lights and go left onto Cultus Bay Road, then take the next right onto Campbell Road. Follow Campbell Road to the signs on the left for Chinook, Whidbey Institute and Whidbey Island Waldorf School. Turn left there on Old Pietila Rd. Take another left as you enter the wooded area, up a gentle hill into the parking area for the school.
Coming from the north, take exit 230 toward WA-20/Burlington/Anacortes/Skagit Airport and follow WA-20 W to Cultus Bay Rd. Turn right and take the 2nd right onto Campbell Road and 2nd left onto Old Pietila Road.
