As the Waldorf100 centennial year approaches its final celebration in North America, the Alliance for Public Waldorf Education (APWE), the Association of Waldorf Schools of North America (AWSNA), and the Waldorf Early Childhood Association of North America (WECAN), are pleased to host the 2020 LEARN TO CHANGE THE WORLD: EDUCATION INNOVATION SUMMIT. The conference will be held at the Chicago Waldorf School from June 23-June 26, 2020, with meetings and additional workshops offered before and after the main conference.

With potentially 700-1000 participants, here is important time-sensitive information:

  • Registration information is on the registration and pricing page.
  • There is a group registration rate for three or more registrants from the same school.  Group registrants must register at the same time to receive this discount. No discounts will be available after 4/30.
  • There are multiple workshop paths from which to choose. You must know your Workshop Path from this list prior to beginning registration. Workshops are optional.
  • One professional development workshop offering is training in restorative justice. The fee is an additional $250. If you are interested in this workshop, be sure to sign up right away. This is workshop A1-10 which is a six-session workshop during the conference with a required pre-session on Tuesday, June 23 at 2:00pm as well.

COVID-19 Update

March 9, 2020
Dear Friends,

As we prepare for our exciting joint conference in late June, we are also aware of the potential challenges of COVID-19. Like many individuals, groups, and organizations across the country and around the world, we are keeping our eye on a rapidly evolving situation. Our conference is scheduled to take place as planned; our registration is already above 500 and it promises to be a spectacular event.

Please be assured that we are considering a wide range of possible implications of the COVID-19 situation. Our foremost commitment is to plan for a safe event. As such, we will continue to monitor directives and information from the CDC and local authorities, and the conference planning committee will meet weekly to review and to discuss any adjustments that may become necessary. We know that things will continue to change; June 23 is both a distant date and very near.

For now we are all hoping for the best, yet planning for a range of possibilities. We will keep you fully informed. We know you will all be engaged in similar processes at the school and institute level. This is an unprecedented situation and we hold our best wishes for everyone who is currently impacted.

Take care of yourselves; we wish you good health.
